Split-brain study
Studies of split brains were conducted by severing the corpus callosum to detach the left and the right hemisphere of the brain. Through this study, researchers discovered that the left and the right brain were responsible for different functions of our body, When patients were shown images through the right eye,the left brain allowed patients to verbally identify and name the items. However, when images were shown through the left eye, patients could not identify the items but could describe their functions. |
